To use Esbergers Beach Bait
Caster you will require a rod and a fixed spool reel that must be capable of
holding 450 yards of 15 pound breaking strain line, a shock leader of 60 to 80 pounds and a minimum of 4-5 feet. Under no circumstances can you use a
multiplier reel with this system.
Your rod is on a stand in front
of your Beach Bait Caster. You now tie your pound weight on and tie your
first hook length at four foot from your weight - a Pennell Rig is best -
two hooks on one snood, for large cod baits and big fish. Next drop your
weight down your barrel so that your first bait is hanging outside of the
barrel and open the bailarm on your Fixspool reel.
Now that you are at the back of
the Beach Bait Caster, you now lift your fire button, and charge your
distance gauge to the distance you want to fish at. (0-300 yards).
Look at the line from the reel back to the Beach Bait
Caster and check their are no snags in the line. If everything is ok, hit the
fire button sharply and the Beach Bait Caster will do the rest, hitting the
mark exactly as selected - a very simple procedure.
